mobius

February 18

Last semester, I took a class in film production and criticism examining a Danish film movement called Dogma95. The essence of the movement is constraining oneself to a set of rules in filmmaking. I had the pleasure of working with Pat Boyle, Heather Goldsmith, and Coye Lloyd. Our final project required us to write something of a manifesto to guide the piece. The project, called “mobius,” is below. We were largely inspired by Michel Gondry’s “Sugar Water,” produced for Cibo Matto.

Take a minute or two to read and consider the rules following the credits. But above all, enjoy!

I like that video Scott - those were some pretty sweet camera angles. :)

Meredith — thanks, I appreciate it :-). Can’t wait to see some of your work; sorry that didn’t pan out over at Paul’s place.

I think that’s really a nice piece of work given the constructs. While it’s a little challenging to monitor, the idea of side-by-side forward/reverse screens is quite interesting and it keeps you intrigued. I like it a lot.
